WW2 Street Party

WW2 Street Party

On 12th December 2015 (8th May 1945) Owlacombe had a V.E (Victory in Europe) celebration party. We came in wearing our evacuee outfits, and spent the morning learning about rationing and getting the party ready. In the afternoon we played traditional games like hopscotch and skittles, and danced to Glen Miller. For the party we had food from the era, like fruit cake, cucumber sandwiches, digestive biscuits, apple and homity pie. Some people drank tea and some apple juice. We took some photos throwing our hats and paper airplanes into the air. Thank you to Rose for supplying the tea cups and plates. Thank you to the party planners (Sarah, Ollie, Charlie & Katie) for planning the day. But most of all thank you to Owlacombe for making the day a success! Happy VE Day everyone. By Faye & May YR5
