Chinese New Year Celebrations
On Monday, Middlecott celebrated Chinese New Year. We all had to wear something red because red is a lucky colour. We read the story of how the Chinese years all got given an animal. The Emperor decided that all the animals should have a race and the first 12 were given a year named after them. I learnt that the rat pushed the cat into the water and the cat didn’t get a place. This year is the year of the rooster. Then we wrote our own version of the story. (Emily) On Chinese New Year day, we tasted some food. I tried some seaweed but I didn’t like it very much! (Henry).
